Bush's advisors have a solution to EVERY type of problem that may arise...each solution involves using YOUR tax dollars, reducing YOUR benefits, or borrowing YOUR children's money, and giving it to billionaire friends that the Bushies know and love.

Sat Oct 29, 2005 at 02:50:40 AM PDT

Well, it's that time of year again, friends!  A time for merriment, candy, trick or treats, ghosts, goblins, toilet paper and soap, witches, vampires, and Republican pundits.

Sometimes watching the network news broadcasts can be downright SCARY!  You turn on the news, thinking you'll see a balanced broadcast giving all sides of a news story, and all you see and hear are Republican talking points by some of the spookiest creatures ever devised on the tube.

FBI To Divert Anti-Terror Resources To Mainstream Pornography

Tue Sep 20, 2005 at 07:52:18 AM PDT

You've got to be kidding me.

From making a big deal of Janet Jackson's boob to this, the Religious Right in this country has finally gone completely nuts.  Instead of using precious investigative resources to fighting potential terrorism within our borders, the FBI has been ordered, according to a Barton Gellman WaPo article, to:

divert eight agents, a supervisor and assorted support staff to gather evidence against "manufacturers and purveyors" of pornography -- not the kind exploiting children, but the kind that depicts, and is marketed to, consenting adults.

Why most Dems and GOPers disagree re Bush

Fri Sep 02, 2005 at 01:18:41 AM PDT

Let's be honest.  Both Democrats and Republicans like to label the other side "idiots", "partisan", and "misinformed".  Neither side likes to admit that there are people that actually think for themselves on the opposite side of the fence.  But this notion is foolish.  Each side have some people that do actually think and analyze, and the differences in opinion between the two sides among these "deep thinkers" is usually regarding the accuracy of facts and data reported in the mass media.

[UPDATE] Bob Dole's 8/16/05 N. Y. Times Op-Ed Attempts To Cloud Plame Issue

Tue Aug 16, 2005 at 04:15:35 AM PDT

The GOP's well-oiled spin machine is at it again.  Bob Dole, the faithful Republican operative writes today in a New York Times Op-Ed that he is "perplexed by the federal investigation into the alleged leak of classified information that exposed Valerie Plame Wilson, the wife of Joseph C. Wilson IV, a former ambassador, as a Central Intelligence Agency officer."

Trying to imply that Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald is probably on a wild goose chase, Dole continues in his Op-Ed:

So far the special prosecutor, Patrick J. Fitzgerald, has achieved one notable result: putting a New York Times reporter, Judith Miller, in jail for refusing to break her promise of confidentiality to her sources in response to a grand jury subpoena. The incarceration of Ms. Miller is all the more baffling because she has never written a word about the C.I.A. flap.
Update [2005-8-16 11:56:50 by sunbro]: Interesting that TPMCafe.com's Mark Schmitt reports today that Bob Dole received $80,000 to lobby the Senate to keep the laws in place that reward offshore companies such as Tyco for "tax motivated expatriation" --sunbro
